Comment on Encouraging your kids to limit their own screen time is a piece of “Pizza Pie”! by Lee-Anne

I agree with the fact balance in everyones lives is important, especially in little ones! I don't put my children in child care so I have seven days a ...week to come up with exciting things to do. There is an article I will email you that aids me in doing this :) saying that my children do have days that they have more than two hours screen time. With the side affects listed the majority of them are a product of lack of balance and sunshine. Just because kiddies watch tv and play computers doesn't mean mums can't or don't also give them sunshine time or feed them healthy food while watching!

Also having loads of experience around Autism I hope mums out there are not in a panic about tv time and Autism. Not having the 'recommended' social skills caused by your child watching more than 2 hours of tv cannot make your child Autistic. Let's not give the label of Autism to children with poor social skills, it is cruel to those dealing with Autism daily to belittle it this way.

Saying that I am checking out the pizza chart because charts work a dream in my house! We do have our screen time under raps but like anything children learn we had to work at it. Computer time is now a reward and the first thing to be taken away with bad behavior!

Lastly I have found tv amazing for my children's development. Nate (4) tells me a new thing he learns everyday. The other day he explained how the sun helps make the rain and told me the whole cycle. Also my babes are playing around while we watch the news and it enables us to explain the questions they ask!

Balance is the key in our house and it works xo

Hello Sascha,
Yes, the heat is very unbearable. I met a cosmetic consultant recently who had some nail polish bottles explode in her car due to the heat. She now carries all her cosmetics in an ice cooler.
Cars are a dangerous place to leave children unsupervised, thanks for leaving your message!
I have googled the emergency contact numbers for all countries, they can be found at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_telephone_number
According to this site, the emergency contact number in Germany is 112, and Police 110.
I hope this helps.
The emergency 000 is for Australia.
Take care,
Rach

Hello,

I find this to be a message of the utmost importance. I know even as an adult sitting in the car while someone runs in to do something it can get unbearable. For a child it must be a lot worse. I dont live in Australia, but in Germany. Do you happen to have a numer to call here to report such a thing?

Sincerely,

Sascha Kinnaman
