~Buckle with Care~

With the new car seat laws now enforced right around Australia, it means children are required to be buckled into a children’s safety car seat (with inbuilt harness/buckle) till the age of 4. So it’s time we had a closer look at safer buckling, especially coming into the summer months with scorching hot car seat buckles.

As a mum of two gorgeous kids (18months, and 3.5years) I know how hard it can be to buckle up a wriggly child safely into their car seat with firm fitting straps, without accidentally pinching them in the buckle.

If you’ve ever pinched your child in the buckle of a car seat, pram, helmet, highchair etc, you will understand my heartbreak when I realised I had pinched my son (then 18mths).

My heart filled with guilt as my ears filled with his painful screams. How could I hurt my child? He reminded me for the next 6months “no ouch my tummy” every time it came time to buckle up!

When the same thing happened to my daughter when she was 6months, (fully clothed), the tears were enough to melt me into a sobbing heap… but when i realised the bloodblister/welt followed by bruising that this painful accident had left on her precious little tummy, I knew I had to do something to address this too-common problem.

After many sleepless nights, a year of trials, many different designed, and re designed product prototypes, finally, I am so excited to share with you… BucklePodz.
